Pilgrimage to Harrods

Dougie Wallace's Harrodsburg is an up-close series of photographs exploring the wealth safari wildlife that inhabits the super-rich residential and retail district of Knightsbridge and Chelsea. ‘HAJJ : Pilgrimage to Harrods’ is a direct response to the series of photographs in which Wallace captured a new found breed of super-rich arabs depicted in a somewhat familiarly unfamiliar environment.

The collection created by designer, Ibrahim Romman, and seamstress, Sarah Garfield, was an exploration in finding a balance between global cultural relevancy and individual cultural identity.

‘HAJJ ’ aims to aesthetically recapture the effects of modernisation within middle eastern culture by presenting a collection of garments and accessories that serve the pilgrims during their annual visit t to Harrods, London
